Overview
Ernakulam Medical Centre (EMC) is one of Kochi's most trusted multispeciality hospitals, caring for patients since 1985. Phitany rebuilt their digital presence into a fast, patient-first platform that mirrors the hospital's scale — 30+ specialities, nine Centres of Excellence and a 24x7 emergency network — while making it effortless for any patient to find a doctor and book a consultation.
Challenge
EMC's reputation was built over four decades, but its previous website didn't reflect that depth. Patients struggled to navigate dozens of departments, locate the right consultant, or book an appointment without calling the front desk.
The hospital also needed to serve a growing base of international patients and surface its accreditations and legacy clearly — all within a tight one-month delivery window.
Proposed Solution
We designed a structured, search-first experience on Laravel, with a department-and-doctor architecture that scales as EMC grows. A built-in appointment booking system lets patients select a department, choose a consultant, and confirm a date and time in a few taps.
Doctor profiles, departments, packages and news are all managed from a single admin panel, so the EMC team keeps content current without developer support. The growing international patient base was given its own dedicated International Desk landing page and journey.
Implementation
Within the one-month timeline we delivered the full website: a searchable doctor directory with "Request Consultation," 30+ department pages, nine Centre-of-Excellence sections, health packages, insurance partners, blog and news modules, careers, and a testimonials system — all powered by an editable backend. NABH, MBFHI and the IMA Age-Friendly Healthcare accreditations were given prominent placement to reinforce trust at first glance.
Outcome
EMC now has a digital front door that matches its clinical reputation. Patients self-serve appointments around the clock, the team manages doctors and content in-house, and the new International Desk gives overseas patients a clear path to care.
The launch of the EMC International Desk website marked the next step in extending a 40-year legacy to a global audience.
